Executive Chef II – Job Overview

As an Executive Chef II, you will oversee the daily operations of the kitchen and dining services while ensuring that residents receive high-quality, nutritious, and flavorful meals. You will be responsible for leading a team of culinary professionals, maintaining compliance with food safety standards, and fostering a positive dining experience for residents and guests.

Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership & Staff Development:

• Interview, hire, train, and develop kitchen staff.
• Create and maintain schedules to ensure proper coverage while staying within budget.
• Ensure that all staff follow proper food handling and safety protocols.

Food Preparation & Quality Control:

• Oversee the menu planning, preparation, and presentation of meals.
• Ensure that food meets nutritional guidelines and dietary restrictions of residents.
• Work with residents and family members to incorporate meal preferences and feedback.

Budgeting & Inventory Management:

• Maintain monthly and annual budgets for food, supplies, and labor.
• Order and maintain kitchen inventory while managing vendor relationships.
• Ensure proper portion control and minimize food waste.

Resident & Guest Experience:

• Create a welcoming dining environment that enhances the resident experience.
• Host resident and family meetings to gather feedback and improve meal services.
• Collaborate with care staff and community managers to support resident wellness.

Compliance & Food Safety:

• Ensure food safety and storage practices comply with health regulations.
• Conduct routine kitchen inspections to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Train staff on proper sanitation and safety protocols.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Organize and execute special events, holiday meals, and community banquets.
• Support the community outreach and marketing team by showcasing Resolve Yourself Homecare’s dining services.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience & Education:

• 5+ years of culinary experience in the hospitality, healthcare, or senior living industry.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Skills & Certifications:

• Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to resolve customer or employee concerns professionally.
• Food Handler’s Permit (as required by state law).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license (if transportation responsibilities apply).
